Double Dutch Door Fold

Try this Easy Double Dutch Door Card!

Have you ever seen a dutch door where the top part of the door can be opened independently of the bottom? A double dutch door will essentially do the same, but one part is divided into two parts that open from the center.

This is basis for the Double Dutch Door Card, except our “double door” part will be on the bottom.

This is adorable fold is really easy to make. You will need:

• Pear Pizzazz Card Stock: 4-3/16” x 9”, scored at 5-½” and 2” x 8-½”, scored at 1-⅛” from each end, and scraps for oval punch and leaves
• Pale Papaya and Flirty Flamingo scraps for flowers
• DSP: Daffodil Afternoon (Level 1 SAB item) 4” wide x 3-¼” tall (be aware of orientation), and two pieces at 2” tall x 2-⅛” wide. Consider if you would like these patterns to match up or be random.
• Very Vanilla: 4” x 5-¼” for inside and a scrap for the oval punch
• Double Oval Punch (AC)
• Sentiment from All Squared Away stamp set (AC)
• Adhesive, dimensionals
• Embellishments optional

Instructions:

1. Fold cardstock pieces along score lines and crease with bone folder.
2. Adhere the larger piece of DSP to the shorter flap of the card base.
3. Adhere the two smaller pieces of DSP to the smaller outer sections of the 2” x 8-½” piece of cardstock.
4. Apply adhesive to the middle section of the 2” x 8-½” cardstock and attach to the bottom back of the card base, making sure the bottom edges meet exactly.
5. Die cut the flowers and leaves and arrange them on the top flap of the card with adhesive and dimensionals. Make sure that some of the die cut extends below the lower edge of the flap and across where the bottom flaps meet. This will help hold it closed a bit.
6. Stamp the sentiment on Very Vanilla and punch out with the smaller oval on the Double Oval Punch.
7. Punch the scalloped oval in Pear Pizzazz and adhere the sentiment piece to this. Add it to your card front.
8. Stamp or add a small die cut image to a bottom corner of the 4” x 5-¼” vanilla cardstock. Adhere this to the inside of your card.
