This gift card holder is great for the holidays, birthdays, or anytime!
The video for this card was unedited and therefore doesn’t have the measurements shown on the screen. So, please use this reference – it’s not a complicated one!
The first card uses the Peaceful Deer set and coordinating punch. The Designer Series Paper is no longer available. It was offered as a free choice from the last Sale-A-Brations brochure.
- For the base, start with cardstock cut at 11″ x 4-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″ and 1-1/2″ – I used Real Red.
- Fold card in half and then fold the 1-1/2″ flap inwards. This will create the pocket for the gift card.
- With a small circle punch or die you can cut a notch (just a sliver of the circle) on the pocket edge like a thumb hold. this is not essential, as the gift card will still be exposed enough to grab, but I think it does look nicer.
- Adhere the 3-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ layer to the 4″ x 3-3/4″ layer
- Decorate with die cut or punched images and/or sentiment label. On this card, I put my punched deer on another 2 layers to highlight the deer even more. The black layer is 2-1/2″ square and the white layer is 2-3/4″ square.
- Adhere this to your card front. Add embellishments if you like. I used a Black Matte Dot.
- On the inside, adhere the 1-1/4″ x 4″ strip to the right side, the part that will be seen when the card is closed.
- Adhere the 4″ x 3-3/4″ white pieces on both sides of the inside. Be sure to align the one on the right close enough to the center fold so that it is not seen when the card is closed. NOTE: For a little more interest, the left side piece behind the pocket can be stamped or use DSP instead of white cardstock.
- Add a thin line of glue or Stampin’ Seal Plus (strong adhesive) to the sides only of the pocket flap and adhere it down. You want this firmly attached as it will be manipulated a lot with the card going in and out.
Your gift card holder is done! Your family and friends will enjoy your special gift, I’m sure. Here are some other versions of the same card.
You can decorate the inside by stamping a background or using Designer Series Paper if you like.
The snowmen card uses Night of Navy, Moonlight Mist and Basic White cardstock, Memento Black ink and Moonlight Mist ink. Stamp set is Snowbody Better. Water Color Markers (Assortment 2) were used to color. Embellishments were Genial Gems.
