Happy Hibiscus

Learn how to do the emboss resist technique and how to use this Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing folder.

This is an old favorite technique that I haven’t used is a long time and thought it was time to re-visit it, especially when I saw the design on a tissue box that reminded me of it.

First of all, the box color was pretty close to Lost Lagoon, which I have been quite partial to lately. That is why I bought it for my stamping room in the first place. Next, I knew the pattern would be inspiration for my Happy Hibiscus cards.

I decided to use the Happy Hibiscus stamp set and Hybrid Embossing Folder and dies from Stampin’ Up! The emboss-resist technique would allow me to get the white detail and a variety of shades of the Lost Lagoon color. To learn how to do this technique, and how to use the hybrid embossing folder, see the video tutorial here.

Once you have your emboss-resist pieces done, you can create the Happy Hibiscus cards below, plus a couple others featuring the hybrid embossing!
